Dorothy Cole Bagley

Funeral services for Dorothy Cole Bagley, 88, will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Dr., Shreveport. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Brother Paul Summerlin.

Dorothy was born August 26, 1934 in Itasca, Texas to John and Flora Cole and passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dorothy was a resident of Shreveport. She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1952 and married her high school sweetheart, Gale Bagley. They had two sons, Larry Bagley and Danny Bagley. She enjoyed owning her own businesses such as Dot’s Corner and Dot’s Interiors. Throughout her life, she loved helping others, yard work, and entertaining her family and friends. Known as Mama Dot, she was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to her four granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. In all things, she was unique and special, and her sense of humor and infectious laugh will always be fondly remembered.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldred Gale Bagley; and son, Larry Bagley. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Danny Bagley and wife, Kim of Canton, GA; granddaughters, Tiffany Summerlin and husband, Brant of Natchitoches, LA; Sabrina Bagley, Danielle Bagley, and Megan Bagley of Canton, GA; great-granddaughters, Avery Summerlin and Sadie Summerlin of Natchitoches, LA; and many nieces and nephews.

Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Brant Summerlin, Jason Summerlin, Eddie Keasler, and John Trauth.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. P.V. Blanchard, Lela Bagley Jones, Eddie Keasler, John Trauth, Shane Pilkington, Louise Roberts, Vanessa Kincaid, Gloria Tooke, and caregivers Yvonne “Bonnie” Garnett and Michelle Hamilton.
