Funeral services for Doris Faye Remedies Stewart, 68, will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 307 Hammond St., Zwolle, LA. A burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 9891 Texas Hwy, Many, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Father Timothy Hurd.
Doris was born May 6, 1957 to John A. Remedies and Selina Parrie Remedies in Zwolle, Louisiana and passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 in peace in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.
Doris was known for her warm and welcoming nature, never meeting a stranger, and her willingness to help anyone. Her passion for Dallas Cowboys football was truly unmatched. Some of her favorite days were spent playing bingo or heading to the casino to try her luck. She loved a good party that had a dance floor. Some of her favorite times were cooking Sunday dinner for family and friends to gather together. She never missed a family event. Despite her battle with sickness, she remained strong. Every room she entered was filled with joy and laughter. She was indeed a beloved person through and through.
Doris is preceded in death by her mother, Selina Parrie Remedies; father, John A Remedies; brother, Glen Dale Remedies (infant); and sister, Virginia Ann Remedies (infant). She is survived by her husband, Jerry Stewart of Zwolle, Louisiana; daughters, Monica McManus, of Zwolle, Louisiana, Melanie Small of Zwolle, Louisiana, and Mindy Sepulvado, of Zwolle, Louisiana; son, Dustin Ezernack and fiancé, Caitlyn Alford, of Zwolle Louisiana; stepson, Clyde Stewart and wife, Laura of Noble, Louisiana; stepdaughter, Tia Stewart and fiancé, Donny Joe Torres, of Zwolle, Louisiana; brothers, Joseph “Sucker” Parrie and wife, Christine of Zwolle, Louisiana, Robert Parrie of Zwolle, Louisiana, Johnny “Hodge” Remedies and wife, Jackie of Noble, Louisiana; sister, Carolyn Foster of Zwolle, Louisiana; grandchildren, Corey Small, Brittany Small, Kyle McManus, Austin Sepulvado, Kaleb McManus, Brooklyn Lambert, Alex Sepulvado, Brianna Lambert, Kaden McManus, Brayden Ezernack, “DJ” Ezernack, Paysli Koss, Alaina Stewart, and Kara Mieseler; great-grandchildren, Casin, Bonnie, Colt, Alaia, Brynleigh, Malani, Raelyn, Noah, Adleigh, Jayden, Adrianna, and Gunner; her partner in crime and cousin, Eva “Pig” Ross, special Aunt Bea Parrie, and her special niece, April Stewart.
Honoring Doris as pallbearers will be Dustin Ezernack, Jeffery Remedies, Shaun Remedies, Robert Paul Parrie, Jerry Parrie, and Kevin Parrie. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Corey Small, Austin Sepulvado, Kyle McManus, Kaleb McManus, Alex Sepulvado, Kaden McManus, Brayden Ezernack, “ DJ” Ezernack, and Casin Small.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Desoto Regional Cancer Center and staff, especially Emily Brant and Justin Sepulvado. Also, special thanks goes to Superior Hospice for their care and Kimberly Rials, FNP. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Desoto Regional Cancer Center.
