February 27, 1926 - June 18, 2019. Funeral services for Doris Gay Hill will be 2:00 Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Rose-Neath Logansport Chapel in Logansport, Louisiana with Jared Berryman and David Berryman officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, LA. Family to receive friends for visitation will be on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Doris died peacefully in her apartment at Waterview Senior Living, Granbury, Texas, where she had been living since December 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband Wilba Hill, son Morris Hill, and 13 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Gay Hill Berryman and husband David of Granbury, Texas; daughter-in-law Jean Hill of Lebanon, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Joe Hughes of Logansport, Louisiana; grandsons, Jeff Berryman of Granbury, Texas, Lucas Hill and wife, Beth of Bishop, Georgia, Matt Hill and wife, Samantha of Jasper, Georgia, Jared Berryman and wife, Karina of Buenos Aires, Argentina; grand-daughter, Rachal Miller and husband, Jamie of Lebanon, Tennessee; sisters, Pat Arbuckle of Logansport, Louisiana, and Carol Raye Huff and husband, Buford of Stonewall, Louisiana; 10 great-grandchildren and scores of nieces and nephews.
Doris was known for her sewing skills. She made beautiful clothes, quilts, and other items and enjoyed doing so. She loved bird-watching, roses, and azaleas, and participated in wonderful hospitality in her home wherever she lived. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her entire family, including her church families wherever they lived in the world. Above everything, she loved the Lord and served him with grace. In her later years, even with severe memory problems, she still talked about the Lord to those around her, and was full of love for everyone who took care of her and came to see her.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Hill will be Jeff Berryman, Lucas Hill, Matt Hill, Jared Berryman, Stockton Berryman and Jamie Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brody Hill, Brayden Hill, Rosalie Miller and Cora Miller.
