Doris Winner Happel

Doris Winner Happel, 80, of McKinney Texas, passed away on March 3, 2026. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Doris Dupree Winner and John Matthew Winner. She graduated from Jesse Jones High School in Houston, TX. before becoming an administrative assistant at Amoco and later for many years with Shell Oil Company in New Orleans, La. She was a member of Desk and Derrick, The American Sewing Guild and was a Collin County Master Gardener in McKinney. She will be remembered for her cheerful, loving personality and the ability to make friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Donald William Happel, her brother, Rinay Winner, her children, Dana Jo Johnson, Wendy Ann Edwards and Rebecca Ann Happel and has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be buried next to her parents at Clear Springs Cemetery in Coushatta, La. A celebration of life service will be held at Christ United Church in Blue Ridge, Tx. at a later time.
