Doris Schlessing Fitts

Doris Schlessing Fitts went home to with the Lord on November 22, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Bossier Funeral Home on from 1:30 p.m. till 2:30 p.m. Officiating will be Brother Mike Ryan. Doris Schlessing Fitts was born September 21, 1935 in Schweinfurt, Germany. She was a resident of the Shreveport area sine 1955. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Fitts had also been employed at A&P Tea Company for 20 years. A beautiful soul, Doris was a wonderful baker, and she shared her gift fervently with friends, family, and those in need. Doris was always putting big smiles on their faces, with a batch of her homemade cookies and cakes. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Mathilde Schelssing. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edsel M. Fritts of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughter, Cindy R. Beeson and husband, Jim of Shreveport, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Jeremiah N. Beeson, Mary Elizabeth Beeson Loggins and husband, Nathaneil and their two children all from Shreveport, Louisiana; and Noah L. Beeson; brother, Heinz Schlessing and wife, Elke of Schweinfurt, Germany and sisters, Helga Kuchinke and husband, Achim, and Monika Sauer all of Schweinfurt, Germany. Honoring Doris as pallbearers are Nathaneil Loggins, Jeremiah Beeson, Noah Beeson, Vance Welborn, Cody Welborn, And Colton Welborn.
