Donna Ruth Hayes

Donna Ruth Hayes, 59, of Stonewall, Louisiana passed away on January 16, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on June 17, 1964, in Shreveport to Gordon Gibson and Cassie Culpepper. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Funeral services honoring the life of Donna will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Kevin Warren and Mark Culpepper. Interment will be held at Marthaville Cemetery in Marthaville, Louisiana. 

Donna served on the Shreveport Police Department and volunteered in DeSoto Parish as a firefighter and EMT. She retired from Caddo Parish School Board after 20+ years of service. Donna was married for over 40 wonderful years to spouse, Doswell Hayes. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Gibson; stepfather, Von Culpepper; brother, Bubba Gibson; mother-in-law, Mildred Hayes; father-in-law, ML Hayes; and sister-in-law, Debbie Nichols Hayes. Left to cherish her memory include her spouse, Doswell Hayes; son, Jared Hayes and wife Amanda; son, Marshall Hayes and Jessica Welch; grandchildren, Harper and Wyatt Hayes; brother, Danny Gibson; stepbrothers, Bruce and Mark Culpepper; mother, Cassie Culpepper and Ray Blandino; sister-in-law, Denise Hayes; brothers-in-law, Doug Hayes, Dean Hayes, and Delane Hayes; along with numerous extended family. 

Honoring Donna as pallbearers will be Rodney Huff, Melvin Manson, Chris Crews, Brian Williams, Jared Santoff, Alex Tucker, and Tim Radcliffe. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Nate Boudreaux. 

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Joseph Bosley, DeSoto EMS, WKHS, and Ochsner LSU Feist-Weiller Cancer Center for taking such good care of Donna. 

Following the graveside service, a reception will be held at the Hayes Household at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 21st.
