Donald Edward Walker

Mr. Donald Edward Walker died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 88 at Montclair Park Memory Care Center in Shreveport, Louisiana on Friday, May 20, 2022. Donald was born in Tallulah, Louisiana on January 31, 1934. Donald graduated from Tallulah High School in 1952 and went on to graduate from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, later known as Louisiana Tech University, with a B.A. in Business in 1956. He returned to Tallulah and joined his father's insurance business, Madison Insurance Agency. Additionally, he served as Mayor of Tallulah from 1990-1994. In 2004, he and Bess Ann relocated to Shreveport to be near their children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Walker from Tallulah. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Bess Ann O'Neal Walker; six children, Dr. Donna A. Walker, Carla Walker, Donald 'Chip Walker and wife, Tracee, Bill Walker and wife, Amanda, Scarlett Hendricks and husband, Jeff and Kelly A. Yerger; 12 grandchildren, who lovingly called him 'D.D., Matthew Williams, Joshua Schneider, Tyler Walker, Wade Walker, Nicholas Walker, Caden Walker, Claire Walker, Drew Walker, Dane Walker, Hunter Paul, ElizaBess Havener, and Maxwell Yerger, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Richard Haynie and to the staff of Montclair Park. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah at a later date.
