Donald Rush Nelson

Donald Rush Nelson was born on August 26, 1942, to James Nelson  and Clarice (Jacoby) Nelson in San Diego, California. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 14, 2024 in Zwolle, Louisiana. 

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Benson Cemetery, Louisiana Highway 512 and Shadoin Loop, Benson, Louisiana. Brother Lee Dixon will be officiating his service.

Preceding him in death are his parents, James and Clarice (Jacoby) Nelson. He is survived by his daughters, Renee Jagneaux and husband Jeff, of Converse, LA, Lynn McComic and husband James ”Bobo”, of Converse, LA; sister, Patsy Johnston of NC; brother, Charlie Bill Nelson of Mansfield, LA; and 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members. 

Honoring him as pallbearers will be Timothy McComic, Justin McComic, Phillip McComic, Jordan McComic, Bryce McComic, and Jared Jagneaux. His honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Jagneaux, Bobo McComic, and Jeremy Brant. 

Our dad was not perfect, but he knew Jesus.
