Donald passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Sibley, Louisiana after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by family and passed in her sleep. She will be greatly missed many for her wonderful cookies and candy she made and gave out to all.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl D. Martin, father, Lawrence "Preacher" Martin, husband, Randel O. Grice, sisters, Ida Mae Martin, Mavis Martin, Ila Martin Holcomb, Joyce Martin Beauchamp, brothers, John Thomas Martin, Alvie "Bud" Martin, son-in-law, David R. Walker, nephew, Glen "Bud" Holcomb, nieces, Sherri Taylor, Betty Brittingham, and grandson, Taylor Jones.
Donald was born August 20, 1932 in Vienna, Louisiana. She held many jobs in her life, but the one she loved most was being a foster grandparent to mentally challenged children. She was also a member of the Red Hats Society.
Donald was survived by her daughter, Glenda Gribble and husband Gary of Scottsville, TX, son Randel O. Grice, Jr. and wife Paula of Sahuarita, AZ, son Carl M. Grice and wife Pam of Sibley, LA, daughter, Evelyn L. Walker of Sibley, LA, and daughter Brenda Jones and husband Brett of Heflin, LA. She has 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Walker, Drew Waggoner, Jake Jones, Stephen McLellan, Robert Grice, and Randel Grice III.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Champy, Rex Sanders, Heath Sutton, Noah Ruff, Clint Heflin, Todd Asenato and Kyler Grice.
The family would like to say thank you for all the wonderful help given to Mom by Rhonda Shively, Hospice nurse, St Joseph Hospice, and the Home Health group that came out every week to help her. Rhonda helped keep Mom's spirits up and helped us keep our spirits up.
Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, LA Friday, June 15, 2018 from 5 until 7 p.m. Services will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Brock Childress officiating. Interment will follow at Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin, LA.
