Donald Joseph Evans

A graveside service for Donald Joseph Evans, 72, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Andrew Brewster.

Donald was born on October 11, 1953 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Earl and Ada Evans and passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

A few thoughts from Cay about my Donald. For all who knew Donald, whether life long family and friends or newcomers to the circle of Donald, he was selflessness and kindness personified. No one cared more, gave more, or loved more…everyday. When people asked what were Donald’s hobbies or interests, I would always say “basically me!” (And others, too!). His needs always took second place to those of others. I did not know his dad, Earl, very long, but I think Donald came by this giving nature from his dad who always seemed focused on his family and the ones he loved as was Donald. I hope I can continue to honor his heart for others.

Donald graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches with a Business Administration degree. He retired from the City of Shreveport as Purchasing Director in 2015.

He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Worth Evans; mother, Ada Galllien Evans; infant brother, Joseph, all of Natchitoches; and sisters, Earleen Ruth Evans, of Shreveport, LA and Linda Crafton Evans of Covington, LA. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dr. Cay Evans, of Bossier City and six siblings, Diane Evans Wolfe and husband, Norbert, of Temple, Texas, Michael Worth Evans and wife Cindy, Lillian Evans Richie and husband, Vernon, Alan Earl Evans, Louis Neil Evans and wife, Diane, all of Shreveport, LA and Julia Ann Evans Shows and husband, Randy, of Broussard, LA; his sister-in-law, Pat Cover and her husband, Rick, from Bossier City and his brother-in-law, Dr. Clifford G. Crafton of Covington, LA, and many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
