Graveside services for Donald Ray Bush, 85, will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Officiating the service will be his son, Delayne Bush. Don was born on May 4, 1935 to Leo Ernest Bush and Mary Iona Patton Bush in Sabine Parish, Louisiana and passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Don was a resident of Keithville and was a minister for 55 years in Louisiana and Texas. He served the Lord teaching, preaching and ministering to the various churches he pastored. His favorite ministering tool was his carpenter suspenders and loved when people would inquire about his suspenders which opened up the opportunity to witness for the Lord. He always hoped he measured up to the Lord's expectations for his life. Don is preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Bush; brothers, Leroy Bush, R.J. Bush, W.D. Bush and sister, Nettie Davis; grandson, Lantz Bush. He is survived by his son, Delayne Bush; daughters, Donna Bush and Danette Smith and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Amanda Parnell and husband, Brandon, Emily Harris and husband, Stephen, Spencer Smith and Riley Smith; and five great-grandchildren. Honoring Don as pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Scott McWright and the nurses and staff of Willis-Knighton- Pierremont 6 East. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of their choice.
