Don Fritz

Funeral services for Don Fritz, 82, of Shreveport, LA, will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Reverend Ray Raney and Reverend Cody Albritton. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Graveside service will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, LA.

Mr. Fritz was born in Minden, LA on September 14, 1942, to William T. and Aubyn McDow Fritz. After graduating from Minden High School in 1960, he received his B. S. Degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1964. In 1967, he received his Master’s Degree from the University of Mississippi. He was employed by the Caddo Parish School Board for 42 years, from 1964 – 2006, where he served as a business teacher at Fair Park High School for 6 years; Supervisor of Vocational Education for 8 years; and Director for Vocational and Adult Education for 28 years.

Through his work, Mr. Fritz’s focus was to have quality programs to meet the needs of both teachers and students. He always strived to provide the most modern equipment, instructional materials and professional development for teachers and students. This was evident by the success of the Caddo Career & Technology Center, Vocational and Adult Education Programs, and Alternative Education. Mr. Fritz was an active member of both state and national professional organizations in vocational and adult education serving in leadership roles. In his retirement years, he enjoyed time spent with family, retired friends, Bible Studies, church activities, exercising, boating, traveling, and bowling with Learohn. He always said, “Let me enjoy the ocean in Florida, see the mountains in Colorado and I will be happy”.

As a member of First Baptist Bossier, Mr. Fritz was a trusting, loyal servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ. He enjoyed being a part of Precept Bible Studies and Carolyn Ray’s Sunday School class. He served as President of the Senior’s Diamond Set at First Baptist Bossier from 2011-2013. For the past several years, he has been attending Rose Park Baptist Church with Dr. B. J “Rocky” Maddox as his pastor. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched with his heart.

Mr. Fritz is survived by his daughter, Corinda Watson, and husband Randy; his son, Paul Fritz, and wife, Hollie; grandchildren, Macy Fritz, Christina Albritton and her husband Cody; great- grandchildren, Kayleigh, Whitlee and Watson Albritton; nieces and nephews; and his loving friend, Susan Burk for 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his fiancé, Margie Mazziotti; parents, William and Aubyn Fritz; sister, Betty Fritz Booth; brother, William Arnold Fritz; and grandson, Blake Fritz.
