SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Dolores Porter, age 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Mon day December 31, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Frost Chapel, Shreveport, LA with Dr. Jeff Raines officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA.
Mrs. Porter was born November 14, 1940 in Shreveport, LA to her parents, Kenneth LeRoy Brown and MurLee Thomas Brown and passed away on December 26, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. She was a active member of First Baptist Church, Shreveport where she was a member of the Yes Lord Sunday School Class and a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church where she grew up. Mrs. Porter was a teacher, musician, artisan, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A devout Christian who lived what she believed, she influ enced and shaped the lives of her students, friends and family immeasurably. She will be missed.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Lloyd Porter of Shreveport, LA; sons, William "Kip" Porter of Shreveport, LA and Patrick Porter and son-in-law, Michael Zegarski of New York City ; two grandchildren, Owen Riley Porter and Stella Codell Porter both of Shreveport, LA.
