Dixie L. Williams Neitte, 93, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on January 30, 1933 in Robeline, Louisiana to Lewis and Ticia Rowe.
In loving memory of our “Mimi,” she was a woman whose love, kindness, and selflessness touched everyone who knew her. She dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love was unconditional, and her greatest joy came from seeing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren happy.
Mimi had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel special and loved. Whether through her warm smile, comforting words, or thoughtful acts of kindness, she made each person feel loved and valued. One of the ways she shared her love was through her incredible talent for sewing. She lovingly hand-sewed clothes for her children and grandchildren, creating treasured keepsakes for future generations. Every stitch reflected her generous heart and the love she poured into everything she made.
The absolute joy that God brought to her doorstep through her devoted life to the church was a foundation in which led to her final resting place. Mimi loved the church and all the friendships that evolved from being there. It was nearly impossible to have any conversation with her that didn’t include some mention of those who walked with the same faith.
Her legacy is one of compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She taught us the importance of kindness, hard work, and loving one another without conditions. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in the countless memories she gave us and the lasting impact she made on all our lives.
Mimi’s love will continue to live on in the traditions she created, the lessons she taught, and the lives she touched. We will forever cherish her laughter, her gentle spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
A song she sang to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout the years was “You Are My Sunshine.” It was more than a song, it was a melody of her love, a reminder that no matter where life took them, they were always her sunshine, and she will forever be theirs.
Dixie is preceded in death by her son, Larry Williams; parents, Lewis and Ticia Rowe; husbands, Bud Williams and Curtis Neitte; sister, Margaret Crouch; and brother, Bob Rowe. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Becky (Kyle) Long, and Carolyn Wharton; grandchildren, Matt (Holly) Long, Kimberly (Conner) U'dell, Kristen (Jason) McElven, Luke (Stormie) Wharton, Jacob Martin, Mark Williams; and many great-grandchildren.
Honoring Dixie as pallbearers will be Bryce Kinley, Luke Wharton, Holden Howard, Jacob Martin, Dean Wharton, Jason McElven, and Dalton Kinley.
The family would like to thank Shreveport Community Church and St. Joseph Hospice for all the wonderful care, compassion, and love given to Dixie.
A visitation for Dixie will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, Louisiana. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Denny Rodney Duron.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close to our hearts.
