Diana Louise Edison Adair

Diana Louise Edison Adair of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Diana was born on November 24, 1949, to Glen and Wilma Edison of Carrollton, Illinois.

Diana was a unique and kind soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. She had an infectious laugh and an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Her achievements include multiple degrees and certifications, including being a certified cosmetologist and holding a doctorate in Naturopathy. She served as a Hair America National Educator and was a color specialist for Wella International. She was Chairman and former President of the Louisiana Cosmetology Association, a certified Iridologist, and a Dale Carnegie Graduate. Her dedication to education continued as an educator for the National Cosmetology Association. She was also a graduate of Vidal Sassoon and Pivot Point International, a color analyst for Beauty for All Seasons, and, in her later years, a TikTok influencer.

As a proud graduate of cosmetology school in 1965, she went on to build an extraordinary life doing what she loved. She was an entrepreneur and a very successful hairdresser who was the owner and operator of Adairs Hairstyling for over 50 years. She was also the founder of Dare to Be Young Natural Skincare, the author of the book Dare to Be Young, and an artist who found joy in painting. Diana truly enjoyed her work and deeply loved her clients like family.

In 1969, Diana married the love of her life, James F. Adair of Bossier City. Together, they built a life of love, friendship, and deep understanding. She became a mother in 1972 and again in 1977, and later a grandmother in 2005. Her family meant the world to her, as she devoted her life to caring for them, sharing her knowledge while continuing to inspire them daily.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Wilma Edison of Shreveport, Louisiana. She is survived by her devoted husband, James F. Adair, of 56 years; her treasured two children, Stephanie Adair and Jason Adair; her precious granddaughter, Samantha McClure; her sons-in-law, Jeff Dupuis and Dustin Brothers; sisters, Wanda Ruff and Gloria Butler; brothers-in-law, Donnie Ruff, Ronnie Butler, and Jerry Perry; sisters-in-law, Rebecca “Becky” Adair and Ramona “Monie” Perry along with numerous friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Diana also had many other children for whom she cared and raised as if they were her own: Randy Meek, Rhonda Meek, Shawna Oglesby Everage, Gradis “Lee” Cutchall, Santiago “Jimmy” Cortez, and James Woodward.

Diana will be remembered for her indomitable free spirit, passion for life, thirst for knowledge, unbound empathy for others, but most of all for her kindness, the love and joy she gave to her family, friends, and customers. Her greatest legacy was her love, freely given, deeply felt, and shared in a way with all who knew her.
