Dewayne Allen “Tank” Garris, 60, was born on October 17, 1965, in Kennett, MO and passed away on June 12, 2026, in Shreveport, LA.
Mr. Garris graduated from Malden High School in Malden, MO, where he grew up. He moved to Minden, Louisiana in 1985. He worked in construction for several years before attending Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He served as a funeral director and embalmer for several years working for Rose Neath Funeral Homes, Hill Crest Funeral Home and Bradshaw Funeral Home in his hometown.
Dewayne was a kindhearted and loving person. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
He is preceded in death by his parents Glenda and Floyd “Happy” Garris, his son Justin Garris, brother, Larry Garris and sisters-in-law, Linda and Andrea Garris. Survivors include his Brother Danny Garris, Sister-in-law Rhonda Garris, 5 Nieces, Melinda, Jolene, Conner, Peyton and Eden and 2 nephews Caden and Kent.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, LA with Rev. William “Corky” Puckett officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Malden, Mo where his ashes will be placed with his parents.
