Obituary

Funeral service celebrating the life of Dennis Ray Richardson, 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Logansport with Rev. Dean Register and Shawn Thrapp officiating. Interment will follow at O. E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Logansport.

Dennis Ray Richardson was born on December 3, 1954 in Rayville, Louisiana to Fred L. Richardson and H. "Marie" Harwood Richardson and passed away September 1, 2026 in Logansport, Louisiana, with family by his side.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Fred and H. “Marie” Richardson; mother-in-law, Bessie Jean Malone; sister-in-law, Susan Richardson; brothers-in-law, Sam Nethery and Bil Hatcher; great nephew, Blake Thomas; aunt E Gable and aunt E. Johnson; bonus mom, Jean Richardson; grandparents, Virgie & Grover Harwood and Oza Mae & Wiley Richardson.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Sue Richardson; sons, Jayson Richardson and wife Cassie and Jared Richardson and wife Charli; grandchildren, Kaylee Burford (Peyton), Kaigan Forrest, Brent Richardson (his best friend), Livy Richardson (his little princess); great grandsons, Kason Burford “Little Man” and Knox Miller; brothers and sisters, Billy Richardson of Rayville, Louisiana, Becky Arnold (Ronny) of Rayville, Louisiana , bonus brothers, Charles Roney (Media), Donald Roney (Carmelyn) sisters-in-law, Pam Thomas, Joye Malone, and Judy Hatcher. nieces and nephews, Tammy Thomas, Billie Jean Hughes and husband Mike; Jessica Maxwell, Travis Hatcher and wife Amy, Travis Thomas and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Honoring Dennis as pallbearers will be Billy Richardson, Charles Roney, Peyton Burford, Mike Hughes, Patrick Sandifer, and Peter Stephens.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Alan Bounds, Jack Taylor, Dan Dry, Tommy Rials (Army), Deuschan (Army), and all law enforcement.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Diane Jones, and  Dan Dry and wife Susan.

Also, thank you to Bossier Willis Knighton Intensive Care First Floor Staff, Willis Knighton Hospice, and VA Hospital Shreveport for the love, care, and support shown to our loved one and to our family. May God bless each of you and may you always remember that your work is important and you care matters.
