Delores Dooly

Funeral services celebrating the life of Delores Dooly will be held Monday, October 17, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Chet Johnson and Bro. Jesse Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.

Delores was born March 8, 1953, in Minden, Louisiana and went to be with her Lord October 13, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Delores was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed sharing her love of Jesus with her beautiful singing talent. Delores was known as the “wedding and funeral” singer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved quilting, working in her flower beds, and telling and laughing at her corny jokes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Huey James Sullivan and Vergie Mae Sullivan and her sister Floy Ray.

She is survived by her husband Kennith M. Dooly of Minden; sons, Kasey Dooly and wife Tasha of Minden, Toby Dooly and wife Sarah of Sarepta; daughter, Penny Dooly of Minden; sisters, Marie Shepherd of Atlanta, Arkansas and Jean Cook of Texas; brother, Johnny Sullivan of Minden; grandchildren, Triston and wife Haley, Kelsey and husband Gage, Garrett, Levi, and Sadie; and one great-grandchild, Lily Faye.

Pallbearers will be Kennith Dooly, Kasey Dooly, Toby Dooly, Triston James, Garrett Dooly, and Levi Dooly.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Dooly, Steve Dooly, Michael Dooly, Dennis Ray, Tim Ray, and John Sullivan.
