Delane Eugene Ahrens

A funeral service for Delane Eugene Ahrens, 88, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2565 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Robert Portier.

Delane was born July 11, 1933, in Carleton, Nebraska, to Adolph Carl Ahrens and Louise Amelia Willhemia Poppi Ahrens and passed away on June 20, 2022, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Delane was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He was married to the love of his life of 69 years, Mary Shrontz Ahrens. He served his country for two years in the United States Army. Delane’s hobbies included fishing, traveling, and being around family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

Delane is preceded in death by his parents; son, Lonnie Ahrens; grandchildren, Richard Delane Ayers, Russell Ahrens; great-grandchild, Justin Melton; great-great-grandchild, Branson James Butler; sister, Delores Ahrens; brothers, Loren Ahrens, and Gary Ahrens. He is survived by his wife, Mary Shrontz Ahrens; daughter, Linda Frost; daughter-in-law, Colleen Ahrens; grandchildren, James Ayers and wife, DeLane, Julie Melton, Starla Bell and husband, Brian, Matthew Ahrens, Tina Ahrens; great-grandchildren, Joseph McCloud, Malena McCloud, Ryan Ayers, Kayla Ayers, Alexys Ayers, Gabrielle Ayers, John Melton and wife, Jam, Jason Melton, Emma Bell, Aubrey Bell; great-great-grandchildren, Levi Warren, Sophia Barnhouse, Serena Barnhouse, Kashton Boyer, Austin Haynes, Vanessa Ayers, Natalie Ayers, John J. Melton, Haley Melton, Bell Melton, Jasmine Melton, Melanie Melton, Arya Melton, and Thomas McCloud; sister, Kathy Wiemann.

Honoring Delane as pallbearers will be Bubba Hassell, John Melton, and Rick Raney.
