Debra Roberts Carlson went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 58. She was born on May 1, 1960 in Grapevine, TX and died on the morning of Thursday, January 24, 2019 in Shreveport, LA.
Debbie was saved as a teenager and was currently a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Keithville, LA, where she played the organ and the piano. She was a gifted pianist, was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice, and had the sweetest smile.
She is survived by her husband, David; her son Daniel and his wife, Ashli; and her son, Patrick and his wife, Tracey, and their three sons, Kaden, Brett, and Riley. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Roberts; her brothers, Stanley Roberts and wife, Becky, and Kenneth Roberts and wife, Lisa; a special aunt, Imogene James; and two uncles, Homer Shockey and wife, Mary, and Darrell Shockley and wife, Flo; and a host of family members.
Preceding her in death was her father, Billie Earl Roberts.
She was a warm and loving wife and mother and was the grandest of grandmothers. She had the gift of hospitality. You always left her home with a full stomach and a few left-overs for your lunch tomorrow.
She and David had been planning to renew their vows in March in recognition of their 40th wedding anniversary.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Bro. David Venable and Bro. Lance Rolland officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West.
Debbie touched a multitude of people during her life and all those who knew and loved her will miss her. The family is very appreciative of all the prayers that have been lifted up on her behalf.
