A funeral service for Debra Anne Mc̳Kenzie Stone, 75, will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the University Church of Christ, 2045 E. 70th St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery in Homer, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jerry Hodge.
Debra was born on August 28, 1950, to Barger and Gladys Mc̳Kenzie in Homer, Louisiana, and passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Debra was a proud graduate of Homer High School and later attended Ayers Business School. After many years of dedicated service, she retired from Louisiana Bank and Trust. In June of 1990, she married Jerry Charles Stone, and together they shared countless cherished memories.
She was crowned “Miss Beautiful” in high school and carried that beauty in her spirit throughout life. She loved shopping, dining out, and most of all, time with family and friends. Known for her vibrant personality, she brought joy to every moment. She was an enthusiastic backyard badminton player and proudly claimed the backyard badminton championship from her husband, Jerry. Fiercely independent, she faced life’s challenges with grace and determination. Her strength, love, and resilience will forever be remembered.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Barger and Gladys Mc̳Kenzie, and her husband, Jerry Stone. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Scott Merritt; grandchildren, Haylee Montoya, Justin Bolen, Derek Stone, and wife, Rachel; Sydney Cade with her husband, Joe; and great-grandchildren, Indee-Rose, Amelia, Olivia, and Lucy; and sister, Sandy Crisler. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Debra as pallbearers will be Ronnie Mc̳Kenzie, Derek Stone, Ron Webb, Brandon McCartney, Jimmy Cochran, and Greg Crisler.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, www.parkinson.org, or Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, www.helpfightra.org.
