A memorial service for Debora “Kay” Hallmark Meador, 77, will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Joey Anwar of the First Baptist Church in Haughton.
Kay was born on January 6, 1948, in Lampasas, Texas, to Cecil E. Hallmark and Margaret Glynn Brizendine Hallmark and passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at her house in Doyline, Louisiana.
Kay was a graduate of Woodlawn High School. She went on to dedicate many years to the United States Postal Service, retiring with a lifetime of memories in between. She was known for her hard work and her quiet generosity, always giving what she could to help others.
A proud American, Kay held deep appreciation for the simple beauties of life. In her later days, she found joy in watching the cardinals that gathered outside her window. Her love for her family was unwavering, especially for her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Those who knew Kay remember her unusual and eccentric sense of humor—one-of-a-kind, just like she was. Her laughter, her stories, and the way she could light up a room with her wit will be missed but never forgotten.
Kay was preceded in death by her son, William “Dustin” Meador; parents, Cecil E. and Margaret G. Hallmark, and brother, Doyce Van Hallmark. She is survived by her sister, Deadra June Hallmark Clemens, and husband, Jim, with children, Sara and Lacey; daughter, Heather, and husband, Al Larramendi, with children, Christopher and Laurel; Abigail Meador, Lisle Gourney, and nephew, Michael Hallmark. She is remembered by many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
