Deatra Jean Miller, of Marksville, LA, was born June 23, 1962. She departed this life at the Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA on June 6, 2026, at the age of 63, just 17 days before her 64th birthday.

Deatra found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured the moments that brought her comfort and happiness. She enjoyed visiting the casino, where she loved the excitement and entertainment of the games. At home, she could often be found relaxing while watching her favorite television programs, especially Highway to Heaven and America’s Got Talent. These pastimes brought her many hours of enjoyment and became cherished parts of her daily life. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, her appreciation for life’s little pleasures, and the many memories she shared with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Her husband, Tony Miller, Sr.; sons, David Desselles and Tony Miller, Jr., both of Marksville; sister, Sherry (Bradley) Landry of Marksville; brother, Michael “Micky” Morgan of North Carolina; grandchildren, Kayden and Rayna Desselles of Ocala, Florida, Savanna Desselles of West Valley City, Utah, and Ty Miller of Marksville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Patsy Desselles; son, Rocky Desselles; brothers, Jeffrey Desselles, Sr. and James Desselles, Sr.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Marksville.
