Dearl Ervin Morris was born on April 13, 1942, in Jonesboro, Louisiana to Albert and Evie Moore Morris. He passed away on January 25, 2024, at his home in Bienville with his loving family by his side.
Dearl was a hard-working man, husband, father, and grandfather. He owned and operated Louisiana Erection and Construction Company until 2008 when he had to retire for health reasons. One of Dearl’s many projects was building the first dressing facility for the New Orleans Saints. He built metal buildings all over the Ark-La-Tex and Mississippi. He was married to the love of his life, Ethel Hay Morris, for 60 years. Dearl was a family man, who adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Dearl was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Evie Morris, by six brothers and sisters, his father and mother-in-law, who he loved immensely, Dan and Glennie Poland Hay, brother-in-law Danny McCain, and nephew John McCain.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Ethel Morris, daughter Sara Gibbins and husband Sam, son Waylon Morris and wife Cindy, grandchildren Morgen McDonald and husband Keaton, Sammy Gibbins, and Hunter Morris and wife KayCee, great grandchildren Rhett Morris, Andi Morris, and Tucker McDonald, sisters Sue Gilbert and husband Charles, and Bobby Morris, sister-in-law Betty Jo McCain, nephew Curtis McCain and wife Amanda, and by numerous other nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
A memorial for Dearl will be held at a later date.
