Funeral services celebrating the life of Dean D. Carroway, 88, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Burial to follow the service at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Gary E. Palmer.

Dean was born April 14, 1934, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Douglas Mitchell Douzart and Cecile Lacombe Douzart and went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 14, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family and spending time and caring for them. She was a devoted Christian who served for many years. She attended Pinecroft Baptist Church, Cypress Baptist Church, and in her last years at Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a self-taught seamstress who loved sewing for her daughter and grandchildren and crocheting and quilting for them too. She enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables. She was a diehard LSU Tiger fan and never missed a game. She was adored and loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Dean is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald K. Carroway; and daughter, Christa Gail Palmer. She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Carroway and wife Terry, Mark Carroway and Ginger Disante; daughter, DeAnn Low and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Layton Palmer and wife, Sonja, Trenda Gail Clark and Darrel Malcolm, Robbie Carroway, Rusty Carroway, Justin Carroway and wife, Lauren, Dusty Low and wife, Morgyn, Nick Carroway and wife, Celesta, Brittney Hawn and husband, Josh, Ashley Austin and Chase Rathbun, Alexis Carroway and Hunter Streetman, and Ryan Carroway; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Honoring Dean as pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Samantha at The Bloom for the tender love and care you gave our mother.
