A Graveside Service for Dean Alexander, 94, of Waskom, Texas, will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 1174 County Rd 328, DeBerry, Texas, at 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Reverend Matt Idom of First United Methodist Church Waskom.

Dean Alexander was born on March 1, 1929, to Claude and Cora Page Morris in Harleton, Texas, and passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dean married Charles R. Alexander on March 3, 1949, at Bethany Methodist Church. She retired from Brookshires in Shreveport, Louisiana after 30-plus years of service. She was a longtime member of First Methodist Church in Waskom, Texas, and UMW. She loved gardening and growing and caring for her numerous flowers and plants. She enjoyed watching soap operas and game shows on television. She liked getting out and playing bingo or sitting around doing word search puzzles. Her relationship with the lord and her family were always the most important things in her life.

Dean Alexander was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and two sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Dennis R. Alexander and wife, Carole, of Bossier City, Louisiana; grandchildren, Stacy Dysart and husband, Jack of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Josh Alexander and wife, Allyson of Frisco, Texas; great-grandchildren, Hannah Dysart and Adeline Dysart, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Dean as pallbearers will be Jack Dysart, Jr., Layne Alexander, Stith Bynum, and Wayne Alexander. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Don Baker, Johnny Hill, Howard Hall, and Lonny Melton.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Waskom 1305 West Texas Avenue Waskom, Texas 75692.
