Michael Joseph Wise was born Michael Wayne Tedford to Wayne Bailey Tedford and Donna Louise Bullock on May 27, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He spent his first 10 years as a farm boy in southern Indiana. In 1964, his mother and adopted father, James Dale Wise, moved the family to Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is where he calls home. His elementary years were in Catholic schools where Mike was an Altar Server, sang in the children's choir and was in the Legion of Mary. Mike graduated in 1972 from Manzano High School and joined the Air Force. Mike attended Louisiana Tech University from 1979 till 1986, majoring in Bio-Medical Engineering with minors in Chemical and Electrical Engineering. Mike met his lovely wife, Anne, on a blind date set up by his little sister in 1983. They fell instantly in love and married in September of 1986. His family eventually settled in Bossier City with his wife and three children where Mike was blessed with a position at St. Jude Catholic Church as Parish Administrator. Mike soon felt the call to the Diaconate and was ordained as a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Shreveport in June of 2014.
Mike, as the oldest of five children, always felt responsible for those around him. He had a heart for service and would do everything he could to help anyone. He pushed himself to be the best person he could be and encouraged others to do the same. He was full of empathy and compassion for those in need, and he was not afraid to stand up for others and for what he believed in. He never wavered in his faith in our Lord, shared it often with others, and witnessed the love of Jesus in his life to his family, friends, and all who needed to hear it. He loved working with the St. Vincent dePaul ministry, the Knights of Columbus, his Deacon brothers, all of his ACTS brothers and sisters in Christ, and the whole St. Jude Church Community.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Bailey Tedford; adopted father, James Dale Wise; mother, Donna Louise Bullock; brother, Paul Steven Wise; grandson Manuel Terry Robles; and his uncles, Michael Lee Bullock and Lew Wise.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anne Simmons Wise; his daughters, Leslie Wise Brumbaugh and husband Cody, Stephanie Wise Carr and husband Bryce, Elisabeth 'Lisa' Wise; son Robert Wise; sisters, Deborah Wise Turner and husband Ray, Emma Wise Dutton and husband Bryan; brothers James Wise and wife Renee, Jay Wise and wife Sharon; grandson Brandian Reeders; granddaughter Caitlynn LeClaire; great-granddaughter Grace; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends.
