David Emerson Wallis

David Emerson Wallis, 53, a native of Doyline, passed away at his home on October 5, 2022. 

David was born August 15, 1969, graduated from Doyline High School in 1987, attended LSUS, and worked for UPS while in college. He moved to the outskirts of New Orleans and married Tammy Redfern on April 19, 1997. They move to Katy, Texas, with one-year old Dylan in 2001. 

David traveled around the world extensively (visiting 48 countries) while serving as a proposal manager for Halliburton from 1995 to 2014. After leaving Halliburton, he worked as a proposal manager to ABB and then to TRC Companies at the end of 2018. David was a popular and generous mentor professionally and personally to many people. 

In 2019, at age 50, David was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. David and Tammy moved back to Doyline in 2020. David was always positive and aggressive in fighting the disease and made all the days count. 

David loved his family, the woodland property in Doyline, shooting sports, and loved to use his John Deere to improve the farm for all to enjoy. 

David and the family appreciated the support of TRC and many colleagues, friends, and relatives during his long battle with the disease that took him too soon. David was overwhelmed at the outpouring of respect and love from so many friends and co-workers. 

David was preceded in death by his father Lionel G. D. Wallis, Jr., and mother Maedean Emerson Wallis. He is survived by Tammy, his wife of more than 25 years, his son Dylan, and sister Alison Wallis. 

Visitation will be held at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 211 Murrell St., Minden, Louisiana, 71055, on October 14, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm.
