David Ray Todd

David Ray Todd, 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in Stonewall, Louisiana.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Bro. Jeff Lines will officiate the service.

Born on July 21, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Dave and Emmie Todd, David spent his life rooted in faith, family, and service. A longtime resident of Stonewall, he was known for his generous spirit, musical talent, and unwavering dedication to helping others.

David’s love for gospel music shone brightly through his years playing piano with the Todd Family Quartet, traveling across the South to share the joy of song in Arkansas, Louisiana, East Texas, and Mississippi. He and his son, David Wayne, shared countless cherished moments singing together at churches and gospel events—a bond that reflected both their faith and deep love for one another.

A skilled outdoorsman, David found peace in nature as an avid fisherman and hunter. He also served his community with honor as a Shreveport police officer in the Civil Defense Department for 17 years, embodying integrity and compassion in every role he held. He also served his country in the Army and Navy Reserves.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Todd; his parents, Dave and Emmie Todd; five brothers; and two sisters. He leaves behind his devoted son, David Wayne Todd and wife, Marianne Todd, along with a host of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Serving as pallbearers are James Robert Todd, Joe Brooks, Jr. Brooks, James Brooks, Robert Mancil, and Harry Simpson.

David’s legacy of kindness, music, and faith will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
