David R. Surrena

David 'Super Dave Richard Surrena, 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 27, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dave asks that everyone celebrate his life in their own time and in their own way. Dave was born on July 20, 1956 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Wilbert 'Wib Glenn Surrena and Margaret May Surrena. He was raised in Erie until he was 18 when he moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where he was a Warehouse Manager at S&R Supply Co. He later married Phyllis Holland in 1998. In 2003, they moved to Natchitoches, Louisiana and he cruised timber for Mitchell & Prewitt and later became a property manager for Robert L. Salim, Attorney. Dave never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face with a positive attitude ready to help anyone. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. Dave is preceded in death by his father; brother, William 'Bill Glenn Surrena, and nephew, Jonathan Michael Surrena. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Phyllis Holland Surrena; mother, Margaret May Surrena; sister, Marilyn Surrena Funkhauser; two stepdaughters, Christie Cox (Salim), and Julie Prewitt Hollman; 3 step-grandchildren, Daniel Zeichner, MD, Benjamin Zeichner, MD, and Joseph Efton Prewitt; niece, Angela Marie Kenner; and numerous other extended family members. Dave will be greatly missed, but we are comforted in our hearts that he is healed and at home with Jesus.
