David "Skinny" Richard Edmonds

Funeral services were held for David “Skinny” Richard Edmonds, age 69, at the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA, on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., and Rev. Richard Humphries, officiating. Interment followed at the Homer Arlington Cemetery. The family l received friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 12:00 p.m.

David was born July 15, 1957, in Homer, LA, to Richard and Jane Edmonds. He entered into rest on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Bossier City, LA, following an illness. David worked in the oilfield as a tool pusher and was a lifelong Baptist. David was an avid hunter and fisherman. He could out fish and outhunt almost everyone that knew him. When he wasn’t fishing, he was usually working on repairing or rebuilding something. There was almost nothing he could not figure out how to fix, whether it was an antique chainsaw or new car. If he couldn’t fix it, he could probably build it. David loved to garden and he would share his harvest with anyone that came to see him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tracy Lynn Jones; one son, David Lucas Jones; and one sister, Sylvia Edmonds Knobloch.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kayla Alycce Ponder of Mountain View, CA, and Crystal Rose Edmonds of Charlotte, NC; a grandson, Zephyr Alexander Voye’; a brother, John Lane Edmonds and wife and wife Sharlene of Dripping Springs, TX; and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Edmonds of Brandon, MS; along with other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Claiborne Memorial Medical Center of Homer LA, the Intensive Specialty Hospital of Bossier City, LA, and Bristol Hospice of Shreveport, LA, for their exceptional care.
