David Perry Scallion, age 74, passed away on August 18, 2026, in Shreveport, LA. He was born September 6,1951, in Campti, LA to Pero Scallion and Murl Troquille Scallion.
David, who was known to many as Perry, worked construction for 52 years. David built bridges all over North, LA, and he will be most remembered for the major role he played in the construction of the new Jimmie Davis Bridge in Shreveport.
David is survived by his wife, Vickie, of 26 years, daughters, Jodie Boughton of Elm Grove, LA, Julie Mitchell and husband, Dennis of Elm Grove, LA; son, Jeremy Scallion and wife, Natalie of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and two stepchildren, Connie Cullins and Jason Funderburk of Shreveport, LA. David is also survived by his brother, Danny Scallion and wife, Gail of Hughes Springs, TX; sisters, Peggy Duggan and husband, Greg of Natchez, LA, Jill Raynes and Cindy Rachal of Campti, LA; grandchildren, Kacee Edwards and husband, Josh, Riley, Dylan and Jordan Scallion, Morgan Cullins, Kaitlin and Matthew Price and Blake Smith, who lovingly called him Pappaw. He was also survived by several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at 10:30 a.m. David will be laid to rest at the Coulee Bethel Cemetery in Campti, LA immediately following the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dominic M. Mowrer.
Honoring David as pallbearers will be Patrick Scallion, Justin Raynes, Jason Raynes, Dylan Scallion, Cody Rachal, Jesse Greer, Jr. and Steve Dickson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Greyson Greer, Gannon Greer and Gunner Moore.
David will be terribly missed, but the family will continue to cherish his memory forever.
