David L Nipper

David Lynn Nipper, known to family and friends as "Pop", returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 after a valiant battle with COVID-19. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. David was born to the late Sam Delton Nipper and Clarice Taylor Nipper of Macedonia, Arkansas and was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong support from an early age. He was an acolyte for his church as an adolescent and as an adult, singing in the choir and serving God throughout his life. He graduated from Magnolia High School in 1961 and went on to study business at Southern Arkansas University. He subsequently enrolled in the United States Air Force where he served four years as a business clerk for his regimen. After serving in the military, David enjoyed a long career in sales and management for some of the nation's most prestigious building and material corporations where he traveled to every state in the continental United States and devoted his work to the care of his family until his retirement. David was blessed with a loving family early in life but was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of forty-five years, Karen Rochelle Lindsey Nipper of Stamps, Arkansas. With Karen, Pop welcomed two loving sons, Zane David Nipper and Jarrod Kent Nipper. David raised his two boys with unprecedented patience, love and humility. David spent countless hours at the baseball field with his two boys who played and excelled in baseball from youth, through college and even professionally. David was extremely proud of his boys and dedicated his children to God from the very beginning. He encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels, leading to an enriched legacy of faith and love for our Jesus Christ. David was then blessed by the Almighty Father later in life with the marriage to his life-long friend, Ann Jean Peace Nipper of Magnolia, Arkansas. With this blessed union, David and his family welcomed Ann and her two daughters and six grandchildren into their Nipper family. David was a sweet and humble man at heart. He was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time for his children and grandchildren, who revered him as their loving patriarch. David was a gifted singer and performed bass vocals for many band concerts under the direction of C. A. Hartley and his famous dancing band in Magnolia, Arkansas. He also played the trumpet and excelled in marching band during high school. David also sang in his church choirs first in Arkansas and then at Airline Baptist in Bossier City, Louisiana. David loved and enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, cooking and sharing recipes, gardening, travel and collecting WWII model airplanes. He also loved to watch and talk anything and everything baseball with his two sons. He was a great lover of animals and a long-time philanthropist for countless organizations, most notably the Ninna's Road to Rescue Animal Shelter in Benton, Louisiana, where he and wife, Ann, adopted their fur babies. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator. David is survived by his wife, Ann Jean Peace Nipper of Benton, Louisiana; son, Zane David Nipper and wife, Rachael K. Nipper of Shreveport, Louisiana; son, Jarrod Kent Nipper and wife, Lacy D. Nipper of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Kent Lindsey and wife, Lise\', and daughter, Karah of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Skylar Dane Nipper, Kennedy Ann Nipper, McKenzie Ryan Nipper and Teddy Elizabeth Nipper; his three nieces, Geri Lynn Hardy of Minden, Louisiana and Kim Jones of Magnolia, Arkansas and their families; stepdaughter, Lynn Salmon and husband, Jim of Windermere, Florida; stepdaughter, Brittny Hendrix and husband, Mark of El Dorado, Arkansas; his bonus grandchildren, Patrick Salmon, Matthew Salmon and wife, Tess, Colt Thompson and wife, Baily, Phillip Allman and wife, Jennie, Chess Herndon, and Payton Allman; sister-in-law, Kathy Ardoin and family of Las Vegas, Nevada, and hundreds of cousins, friends, and loved ones. In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by his only sister, Dianne Nipper Branum and her husband, Jimmy. David's life and memory will be honored with a happy and grand memorial that is befitting of his life and service to the good Lord at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Cypress Baptist Church in Benton, Louisiana. Long-time family friend, Reverend Tommy Patton, will officiate. The family suggests memorials may be made in loving memory of David L.
