David Earl Meacham

Funeral services for David Earl Meacham, 77, will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will take place at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Officiating the service will be Minister Mark Dudley.

David was born on September 9, 1949 in Farmerville, Louisiana to Deuard "DN" Meacham and Genell Meacham and passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026 in Shreveport.

David was a proud Vietnam War veteran whose distinguished military service was recognized with numerous commendations. His decorations included the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. Additionally, he was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device and earned the Expert Badge with bars for the Automatic Rifle, Machine Gun, and Rifle. A graduate of Fair Park High School, David was deeply devoted to his family, with a particular affection for his grandchildren. In his leisure time, he enjoyed classic television programs, notably Gunsmoke.

David was preceded in death by his parents, "DN" and Genell Meacham. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Jeremy Meacham, Sr.; and daughter, Jamie McCoy and husband, Stephen McCoy; life partner, Tina Stone; grandchildren, Jeremy Meacham, Jr., and spouse, Kaci Meacham and spouse, Trevyn Ogden and spouse, Dustin Meacham, Cameron Meacham, William McCoy, and Tinley Ogden.

Honoring David as pallbearers will be Jeremy Meachan, Jr., Trevyn Ogden, Dustin Meacham, Cameron Meacham, Joe Whittington, and Dylan Bankson. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be his grandson, William Wayne McCoy.
