Graveside services for David Fred McCarty will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana, with Bro. Michael Stanaland, Jr. officiating.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana.

David was born on November 26, 1956, in Monroe, Louisiana, and entered into eternal rest on July 10, 2026, in Minden, Louisiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a service that reflected the strength, honor, and dedication he carried throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Nellie McCarty; his grandparents, Mamie Ward and Wesley McCarty; his beloved son, Jonathan McCarty; and his daughter-in-law, Melinda McCarty.

David leaves behind a family who loved him deeply. He is survived by his sons, Justin McCarty of Minden and Paul Barnhardt, Sr. and wife Tina of Minden; his daughter, Judy Hebron of West Monroe; his longtime companion, Kathy Barnhardt, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories; his sister, Alice Millwood of West Monroe; and his brother, Steve McCarty and wife Connie of Walterboro, South Carolina.

He also leaves behind a legacy through his cherished grandchildren: Jakob McCarty, Hayden McCarty, Hunter Walton, Joshua Hunt, Jessica Hebron, Paul Barnhardt, Jr., Jonathan Barnhardt, Brittany Parker, and Brianna Tucker, along with many beloved great-grandchildren who brought him tremendous joy. His love, guidance, and unwavering strength will continue to live on through each of them.

David will be remembered as a man of resilience, loyalty, and quiet strength. He loved his family fiercely, served his country with pride, and touched the lives of many throughout his lifetime. Though he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace, reunited with those who went before him, and finally free from pain.
