MANSFIELD, LA--David Charles \"Augie\" LaFauci, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017. David was a resident of Mansfield the past 41 years, and a member of the El Karubah Shrine, Shreveport. He retired from International Paper in 2010.
David was born February 14, 1945, to Lillie Ruth and August C. LaFauci, and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is there that he met and married Helen L. Metzger on October 18, 1961, and recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
David was not only the beloved husband of Helen, but also the proud father of four daughters, grandfather of seven, and great grandfather of six.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August C. LaFauci in 1961, and Lillie Ruth Davis in 2012; sister, Judith A. LaBlanc in 2001; brother, Leo A. LaFauci in 2004; eldest daughter, Lori Michaele LaFauci Yarbrough in 2015.
David is survived by his wife, Helen M. LaFauci of Mansfield; daughters, Doreen K. Meeks of Kingston, GA, Kathy Lamm and husband Tim of Montgomery, AL, and Rhonda Fogleman and husband Brian of Stonewall, LA; brothers, August LaFauci of Vider, TX, and Pascal LaFauci and wife Judy of Bridge City, TX; grandchildren, Andrea Clements of Orange, TX; Major Joshua W. Yarbrough and wife, Cathy of Red Hook, NY; Amanda Word and husband, Richard of Orange, TX; Jordan Tims of Montgomery, AL; Dalton & Dakota Fogleman, both of Stonewall, LA; and Chetta Rose Dodge of Kingston, GA; and six great grandchildren, Rosalie Yarbrough, MaKenzie & Timmy Clements, Lillie & Hollie Yarbrough, all of Orange, TX, and Teagan Yarbrough of Red Hook, NY.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Deacon Bill Kleinpeter. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Cemetery, Elizabeth, La. Visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home from 6-8pm.
Honoring the life of David as pallbearers will be Dakota Fogleman, Dalton Fogleman, Brian Fogleman, Tim Lamm, Dewayne Tims, and Chuck Meeks. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Yarbrough and Jordan Tims.
