David was born May 30, 1940 in Bethel, Alaska to Robert and Alice Dow, he passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021. David graduated from Bossier High School in 1959. He was a tremendous athlete who played football where he was an all-city, all-state and all-district football player and he also had a love for bull riding and the rodeo. His achievements then provided him with a scholarship to attend and play football for Northwestern State University. During his college years, little did he know that the love of his life lived right next door to him. Lynn was dared by her best friend Flo Flo to ask him out on a date to a cotillion ball. He so proudly accepted. They soon married on December 22, 1963 and loved each other and made so many wonderful for the next 57 years. In July of 1963, David was drafted into the United States Army served for four years. After coming home from the Army, he began his lifelong career with the Bossier City Police Department. David was proud of his profession and excelled in every aspect of being a loyal officer. After 21 years he retired as a Lieutenant and Bomb Technician. He received so many commendations for his dedication and to the very end would tell his stories to anyone that would listen. He never met a stranger! David discovered another passion and talent of his as a leather craftsman. His work was amazing, and all done by hand. Every stitch and chisel he made on that leather whether it was a belt, wallet, ID holders for his men or the duty belts he made to wear with his police uniforms were crafted with love down to every little detail! He was truly one of a kind! Above all though he was a devoted husband and Lynn's soul mate, the best father Erika and Angie could ever have been blessed with and a wonderful Papaw to his Punkins. Even though he has left us here on earth we know he is flying high like the eagles with Angie by his side.
David is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angie Stevenson; brother, John Dull, Sr. and cousin, Bob Dennis. He is survived by love of his life of 57 years, Lynn Carol Dull; daughter, Erika Brice and husband, Bobby; granddaughters Meagan Ouzts and husband, Brent; Ashley Brice; Tabitha Lauren Stevenson and fiancé Chris Baker and son-in-law, Bill Stevenson and lifelong friend and God parent to his girls, Henry N.
