Daryl W. “Derail” Bailey, age 55, was born July 22, 1969, in Richmond, TX, to Linda Beck Bailey and Jerry C. Bailey, SR. He entered into rest on November 12, 2024, in Homer, LA. Derail grew up in Claiborne Parish. He could figure out just about anything he would put his mind to it. Derail was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper who enjoyed being in the great outdoors. He worked for his daddy at J. & L. Market, aka, Moon’s doing just about anything and everything. Derail accidently became a good mechanic by repairing things others tore up. He adored his son, Parker, and was always there for him and with him. Derail was a people person telling jokes and playing jokes. He so was kind and had a heart of gold.
He is preceded in death by his father; Jerry C. Bailey, SR; and brother “C.R.” Jacob Bailey.
He is survived by his son, Parker Bailey and wife Megan of Bienville, LA: mother, Linda Beck Bailey of Summerfield, LA; sister, Patsy Bailey Bailey of Haynesville, LA; brother, Jerry C. Bailey, JR, of Arcadia, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Derail’s family would like to express their gratitude to Randy and Cindy Martin, as well as the EMTs and Claiborne Memorial Medical Center and their staff for the care and compassion shown him.
A Celebration of Life service will be done at a future date.
