Danny Scott

Coushatta, LA – A funeral service celebrating the life of Danny Scott, 72, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1315 Ringgold Ave., Coushatta, Louisiana with Bro. James Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2024, until service time. 

Danny was born on March 11, 1952, in Coushatta, Louisiana to Rex Nolan Scott and “Jack” Robinson Scott and passed away in Benton, Louisiana. Danny was preceded in death by his parents Rex and “Jack” Scott.

Danny graduated from Hall Summit High School in May of 1972. He retired from the Dept. of Transportation and Development as an Administrative Coordinator after 38 years. He was elected Mayor of Hall Summit in 2018 and served two terms.

 Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Janet Burks Hope and husband, Donnie; niece, Stephanie Burks Agee and husband Joe; great niece, Taylor Agee; great- great nephew, Kylan Agee.

Honoring Danny as pallbearers will be Joe Agee, Donnie Hope, Jimmy “Pete” Burks, Steve Green, Robert Perkins, Jessie Davis, Ted Hayes, and Charles Loftin. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Masonic Brothers and DOTD friends.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to Jackie Martin of W.K. Hospice for her support and helpfulness to our family during this time. Also, many thanks to Katherine and nurses Monica, Angela, Christy, Lucie, and Treshyia. Special thanks to Bro. Robert Beadle and Chaplin Kendall Holley. Also, thanks to sitters Taylor Agee, Belinda Jones, and Paige Turner.
