A "Celebration of Life" Memorial Service for Danny Kay Combs, 74, will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Faith Community Church, 4901 Pine Hill Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Danny was born on October 14, 1947 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to James Murphy Combs and Dorothy Blizzard Combs and passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Shreveport. Danny was a resident of Shreveport and worked in the HVAC industry as a civil service employee for 30 years after serving four years in the Air Force. Anyone who knew Danny knew he loved working with his hands. You would find him in his shop tinkering on some project or working on something for someone else. He loved being creative. If there wasn't a solution to a problem, he would always find a way. Danny loved his family very much. Anytime his family was around you would see his face light up with a smile. If you ever asked him about his life, he definitely had a story and loved telling his memories. One of his true passions was NASCAR. He loved watching the races either live or on TV. He made one of his dreams come true in that he now has a replica #3 Goodyear stock car. He was proud of this car. His passions also leaned to collecting models of Dale Earnhardt Sr. cars and John Deere Tractors. Danny is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gary Lamont Combs. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Shirley Jones Combs; daughters, Aimee Denise McClure, Jennifer Combs Calhoun and husband, Chris; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Sylvia Warren and husband, Dan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. Serving Danny as honorary pallbearers will be Daykota Calhoun, Cole Tynan, Michael Wallette, Chris Wallette, Blake "Tricky" LeVasseur, and Chris Calhoun.
