BOSSIER CITY, LA - Memorial services honoring the life of Daniel J. McGrath, Sr., 85 of Bossier City, LA will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel with full U.S. Navy honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
Daniel was born February 15, 1934 in Detroit, MI to the late Emerson and Irene McGrath. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and retired after 21 years of honorable service. Lt. Commander McGrath served during the Korean War and the Viet Nam war. LCDR McGrath was a highly decorated officer with medals consisting of Navy Occupation Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Korean Service Medal (4 Stars), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2 Stars), Viet Nam Service Medal (10 Stars), United Nations Service Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal (With Clasp), Korean PUC, China Service Medal, Navy Good Conduct Award (4 Stars), National Defense Service Medal and other medals too numerous to list.
Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, wife Eleanor (Rusty) McGrath; his sons, Daniel J. McGrath, Jr. and his wife Debbie, Ivory Irvin and his wife, Cynthia; his daughters, Kathy (Kat) Baez and her husband, Chris, Donna Rudock and her husband, Robbie; his precious grandchildren, Nikki Seng and husband, Ian Seng, Kristen Baez (In Heaven), Daniel Baez and his fiancée, Kaitlyn Russell, Jenny Day and her husband, Gerry, Katie McGrath, Rachael, Robyn and Ashley Rudock, Imani Powell and Albert Powell along with a host of other family and friends.
