Daniel R. Garceau, Jr., 53, peacefully left this earth lovingly surrounded by his family on November 8, 2017. Danny fought a 16 month dignified and faith filled battle against cancer. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Officiating will be Fr. Peter Mangum. Interment will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery in Stonewall, LA. Visitation with the family will begin at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 with a Vigil and Rosary led by Fr. Francis Kamau at 6:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home. Danny was born October 21, 1964 to Dan and Carol Garceau in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Martin and Geraldine Lacobee; paternal grandparents David and Emily Garceau; his infant twin brother Joseph; and his brother Mark Garceau. He is survived by his wife, Amy Saucier Garceau; his children Travis Garceau and Morgan Garceau; parents Carol Lacobee Garceau and Dan Garceau, Sr. and wife Katherine; his sisters Diane Garceau Ray and Stacey Garceau McDaniel and husband Perry; brother Scott Garceau and wife Michelle; sister-in-law Cecelia Garceau; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins all of whom he loved deeply. Danny was a graduate of Jesuit High School and Louisiana Tech University. After receiving his Master\'s in Public Accounting, Danny spent the first decade of his CPA career in Dallas working with top national/ international accounting firms. He eventually returned home to Shreveport to begin a 15 year career with KPMG. Danny was currently the Chief Financial Officer for LSU Health Sciences Foundation. Danny loved life, and he loved his Morgan and Travis. He was a devout Catholic and heavily relied on his faith and Christianity to guide him. He was a man of great integrity and a gentle soul loved by many. He will be greatly missed. We want to express our gratitude for all the support received from our family and friends during Danny\'s cancer fight with a special acknowledgement to Danny\'s KPMG and LSU Health Foundation work family for their loving support. Memorials can be made to St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, LSU Health Sciences Foundation, The American Cancer Society or your charity of choice.
