Dale Martin

Retired Shreveport Fire Chief Dale Martin passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the age of 82. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Shreveport Fire Department Chaplain and longtime friend, Michael Purser. Dale was born in Glenmora, Louisiana on August 23, 1939 to Earl Lee Martin and Annie Pearl Glass Martin. Dale was a long term resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Earl Lamar "Sonny" Martin. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Reba Martin; his two sons, Ricky Martin and wife, Donna and Randy Martin and wife, Lisa; sister, Judy Martin; brother, Terry Martin and wife, Rose and sister-in-law, Cloie Martin. Dale was affectionately known as "Pepaw" by his grandchildren, Christopher, Kristen, Zachary, Stephanie, Melissa, Warren, Emily, Stuart, Katherine, Laura, and Lydia, and four great-grandchildren.
