Funeral services to celebrate the life of Dale Eugene Bickham, 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Burial to follow the service at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Mr. Patrick Gullatt and Mr. Doug Rogers.
Dale was born on December 14, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Billy Frank Bickham and Edna Frances Whorton Bickham. He passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Dale was a banker who started at Louisiana Bank and went on to Barksdale Federal Credit Union, where he worked for 31 years and was the Vice President of Operations. He loved playing and coaching softball for the city league and church league. He loved coaching his daughter's softball and basketball games, cheering her on, and helping her to be the best she could be. Dale would attend Airline High School football games with his dad until his dad’s passing then he would go with his daughter, Heather. He served on several committees at Airline Baptist Church as a Deacon as well as other committees. Dale was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Edward Bickham, Elsie Bickham, Cicero Green “Bud” Whorton and Blanche Whorton; sister, Susan Bickham; and nephew, Christopher Phiffer. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Johnson Bickham; daughter, Heather Suzanne Bickham; sister, Judy Harlon and husband, Terry, Anita Phiffer and husband Steven; brother, Kenneth Bickham and wife, Alisa; brother-in-law, Michael Johnson and wife, Rachel; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Honoring Dale as pallbearers will be Chad Johnson, David Harrell, Keith Bush, Greg Nichols, Bill Bailey, and Steve Woods. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be William “Bill” Nichols, Harry Solomon, and Rene’ Primeaux.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Barksdale Federal Credit Union family for all their love and support, as well as the family and friends who have been with the family through this time, and the Willis-Knighton Hospice Group.
