Cynthia Glass Raney was born February 12, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Thomas E. Glass, Sr. and Gladys Evelyn Freeman Glass and passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Cindy graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA in 1973. She and husband Ron were married on May 21, 1988, while she was working as a paralegal. Cindy was sweet, kind, personable, loyal, and caring, while also being intelligent, determined, and capable. There were no tasks or projects that she would not tackle, and among family and friends, she was known as the "queen of organization". After helping to raise her two girls, she returned to the workforce in 2017 and had the honor of working for Judge Charles Tutt until she became ill in 2020. True to her character, Cindy faced her battle with cancer with strength and courage.
Cindy was a loving and devoted mother to her two daughters, Elizabeth, 27, and Melissa, 25, with whom she shared a special bond. They were fortunate enough to not just call her Mom, but also a friend, who was always there to answer a phone call, take a trip to the nail salon, or watch a Hallmark movie. She was also especially loved by her "grandpups," Pup and Lola.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 33 years, Ronald E. Raney of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Elizabeth Raney of Tigard, OR and Melissa Raney of Shreveport, LA; sisters Mary Patrick and Edith Ave'Lallemant and husband, Craig; brother, Thomas Glass, Jr. and wife, Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Cindy as pallbearers will be Cody Ave'Lallemant, Craig Ave'Lallemant, Gerald M. Johnson, James A. Mijalis, Michael Tilbury, and Judge Charles Tutt.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for Dr. Anil Veluvolu and Dr. C. Jake Wang and their staff at Willis-Knighton Cancer Treatment Center, Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and LifePath Hospice Care Services for their excellent care and compassion.
