Cynthia Hughes Kistler

Cynthia Cyndi” Hughes Kistler was born on August 23, 1956, in Big Spring, Texas. She went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2023, at the age of 66.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Rose-Neath Chapel, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana 71118. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at a future date for immediate family at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana, 71111.

Cyndi was a devoted wife, loving mother, and devout Christian. In her younger years, Cyndi was a student at the University of Texas at Austin where she studied Interior Design and Art. Soon after, she married the love of her life, Ernest L. Kistler III, in Houston, Texas, on June 12, 1976. After several years in San Diego, California, Cyndi and Ernie settled in Shreveport, Louisiana, where they raised their two girls, Kristen and Karyn, and were happily married for 47 years.

Cyndi was saved at the young age of 6 years old. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana and was very involved in her local Bible Study Fellowship, Life On Purpose class, and church community. In addition to being a strong and devoted believer, Cyndi can best be remembered for her kind and caring spirit. She truly had a servants heart and would do whatever she could to help those around her. In addition to her faith, she enjoyed spending time with her girls, going for long walks, and caring for the plants in her garden. She will be missed greatly by her family and close friends.

Cyndi was predeceased by her parents, Rev. Dennis Wayne Hughes and Loreda Hughes; and sister, Christi Hughes Cox. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Ernest L. Kistler III; and daughters, Kristen Kistler and Karyn Kistler.
