The Lord called Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” House peacefully home on July 9, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The visitation will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 6 to 8 pm at the Blanchard Church of the Nazarene. The funeral will be the following day Friday, July 17, 2026 at 10 am at the Blanchard Church of the Nazarene with graveside to follow. Officiating the service will be Delbert Terry.
Cindy was the eldest daughter of Betty Lou Stevens and Charles Coleman Parker, and every day since her birth on July 7, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, she spent pouring care and love into her family and her community. Cindy married Richard House on July 18, 1970, and the loves of her life were God, her husband and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart, having never met a stranger in her life. Her compassion for all and her love of the Lord shined in everything she did. She could be heard in the choir or found at the altar, giving praise for every facet of her life. Her perfected baby sway and rhythmic patting could put even the most unruly baby to sleep.
To know Cindy was to love her, and she knew just about everyone in Blanchard. Cindy was a devoted member at the Blanchard Church of the Nazarene and volunteer at Blanchard Elementary School, and she babysat just about anyone who needed it. She rarely missed a Vacation Bible School, a class party, or a book fair. As the goodnatured joke goes, everyone knows Cindy, and Cindy knew everyone. Truly, her community and her family have lost a pillar.
She is preceded in death by her father Charles Parker; her mother Betty Stevens; her mother-in-law Ola House; her father-in-law Omer House;, and her brothers Frankie Parker and Carlwayne Parker. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Richard House; her son Richard House Jr; her daughter Kacie Brown (Seth), as well as her grandchildren Breanna House, Jacolby House (Jana Curtis), Aiden House, Averie Brown, and Madelyn “Maddie” Brown and her great-grandchildren Braelynn House and Preslee House.
Pallbearers will be Seth Brown, Jacolby House, Aiden House, John Smith Jr, Ronald Cruse, and Jeremy Weed. Roger House, Rick Bryant, Charles Farmer, and Rob Smith will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Cindy House will forever and always be a guiding hand, and though she may be with the Lord now, she and the wisdom and love she shared will never be forgotten.
