Curtis A. Harrist, Jr.

Curtis A. Harrist, Jr. was born September 11, 1940, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on March 24, 2023. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Opal Kent Harrist and Curtis A. Harrist; sister, Patsy Kretzinger; and grandson, Simon Chandler Harrist.

After a long career with Raytheon Engineers in Denver, Colorado as a supervisor of various petrochemical projects, he retired.

As a talented artist, he joined the Hoover Watercolor Society board, where he provided wisdom from his many years of experience.  The Hoover Watercolor Society provided original artwork for R. W. Norton Art Gallery this spring, which included several of his award-winning paintings.

His first love was his family and friends.  He is survived by Sunda Harrist; children, Russ Harrist, Rich Harrist, Rob Harrist, Judy Olson, and Randell Harrist; grandchildren, Ryan Harrist, Josiah Harrist, Jared Bell, Terra Huck, Dan Harrist, Sarah Rundquist, Seth Harrist, Sabrina Harrist, Katie Harrist, Hannah Olson; great-grandchildren, Dylan Huck, Easton Huck, Eliana Harrist, and Zion Harrist; and his best friend, Art Wright.
