A graveside service honoring the life of Curtis Ray Boyett, Sr., 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Road, Bossier City, Louisiana. Reverend Fred Salter will officiate the service. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana.
Curtis Ray Boyett, Sr. was born June 2, 1940 in De Berry, Texas to George and Mattie Boyett and passed away peacefully Friday, March 26, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Curtis worked for over 25 years at Union Texas Petroleum with his last position being Plant Supervisor. He loved to dance at the Bossier VFW Auxiliary, where he met his love, Frieda Rainer, and they never stopped dancing. He was an active member of the Krewe of Elders, through which he did a lot of volunteering, going to nursing homes and helping in various community events, such as the Senior Olympics. Hunting was his passion and enjoyed hunting with his boys, Curtis, Jr. and Brian. Curtis loved the Lord and his family above all, and he especially cherished his times talking to his great-granddaughters on the phone.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian W. Boyett; brothers, George Boyett, Jr., Hershel Boyett and Millard Boyett; and sisters, Clotile Swan, Mary Johnson, and Billie Bonner.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Curtis R. Boyett, Jr.; grandchildren, Shannon Garsee and husband, Brandon; three great-granddaughters, Kerrigan, Kamryn and Kelsey; and his love, Frieda Rainer.
