Colette Colvin Greene, 85, left us to join loved ones in their Eternal Home on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Please join us in remembering her joyful life at a celebration on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the celebration. An inurnment will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

Colette was born November 29, 1936 to Jay and Marguerite (Svajda) Colvin. As a lifelong resident of the Shreveport community, she was a member of the Fair Park Class of 1955 and enjoyed visiting with friends at many class reunions. In 1958, she graduated from the School of Radiology at Schumpert Medical Center with her dear friend, Peggy Taylor, and spent 40+ years working at the Bone & Joint Clinic with a large loving work family that included Margie Phillips. Sixty-three years ago she married Willie Joe (Bill) Greene and together they raised four children while traveling the world and planning where to go next. She never met a stranger and had a wonderful gift for friendship. Our parents enjoyed touring the United States on their motorcycle with friends and family that were members of the Apple Dumpling Gang. For as many years as she was married, she organized softball tournaments, conferences, conventions, charity golf tournaments, class reunions and was always a gracious, thoughtful hostess. For the past 15 wonderful years, our parents gifted us a four generation, week long summer vacation making loving memories. They were members of Providence Road Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Bill Greene; in-laws, Curtis and Virgie Greene; daughter, Jodi Hotaling Ard; brother, Bill Colvin and wife, Carmen; brother-in-law, Herbert Greene and wife, Jan; sister-in-law, Marla Churchman; and brother-in-law, Donald Greene. Once again, Mother has Daddy asking the question, “Colette, why do you have to be the last one to leave the party?”

She will be greatly missed by daughters; Lisa and husband, Joe Simpson of Fayetteville, TX; Donnette and husband, Mike Mee of Birmingham, AL; son, Curtis and wife, RosaLee Greene of Bivins, TX. She was granny to nine grandchildren; Jeremy Hermes, April Hermes Daaboul, Katherine Mee Izzo, William Mee, Adam Hotaling, Lance Ard, Jay Greene, Curt Greene, and Macee Greene; and seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Emma, Grace, Eve, Ryder, John Michael, and Aubrey.  Sister-in-law, Sue Greene; brother-in-law, James Churchman; numerous nieces, nephews and the Thursday lunch bunch will also miss her fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to your favorite charity or also contribute your time and talents to a service organization in her memory.
